THE GAP KNOW ONE IS FILLING
Today's AI frameworks were built for tech companies building AI — not the firms licensing it.
Law firms, real estate agencies, HR departments, and financial advisors are deploying AI tools every day without governance — because no existing framework was designed for them.

NIRA was built to close that gap.
Independent. Non-profit. No conflicts of interest.
NIRAI is a 501(c)(6) certifying body with no financial stake in the AI tools being certified. Our standards are developed by cybersecurity experts, privacy specialists, and business practitioners — then validated against actual regulatory scrutiny.
Founding member pricing ends April 30, 2026.
Get certified at preferred rates and permanent recognition as an early adopter of responsible AI practices.

Defensible
Built on the same frameworks regulators and courts reference. Recognized as evidence of duty-of-care by insurers, regulators, and legal counsel.
THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS
Access the full curriculum through the RAI Certification App. The course is self-paced and designed to be completed in approximately four hours. Built-in guidance helps you understand the material in plain language.
Upon passing, receive your AI-Ready Professional digital badge and certificate. Display it on your listings, proposals, email signature, and LinkedIn profile. Renew annually.
WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE
Built for licensed real estate agents and brokers. Covers AI governance across the six most common AI use cases in real estate practice — automated valuations, AI-generated listing copy, predictive lead scoring, AI chatbots, tenant screening, and transaction management. Independently Verified

WHO IT'S FOR
① What AI tools are being used in our firm, by whom, and for what decisions?
② What governance practices do we have in place to manage AI-related risk?
③ If a regulator, insurer, or opposing counsel asked for documentation tomorrow what would we show them?
WHO IT'S FOR
AI liability is becoming an underwriting issue. Carriers are requiring AI governance documentation for E&O coverage. The Badge gives them exactly what they need.
State AI laws are already on the books in Colorado, Illinois, and Texas. Firms that implement governance now will adapt in days. The rest will scramble for months.
Display the RAI Trust Badge on your website, business cards, and marketing materials. Differentiate yourself as a firm that takes AI responsibility seriously.
In markets increasingly wary of AI misuse, verified responsible AI practices become a competitive advantage no uncertified competitor can match.
Ensure your team has proper training and cognitive guardrails before using AI systems. Protect against de-skilling and liability from untrained use.
Verifiable proof of governance that can defend against negligence, discrimination, and data breach claims. Demonstrate duty of care to regulators and courts.
WHY THE RISK IS REAL
Legal Exposure
One wrong AI decision can make you legally liable — even if you never wrote a line of code.
Employment Discrimination
Using AI in hiring or HR decisions without proper oversight violates the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and Title VII. One Texas firm learned that the hard way — $365,000 settlement.
Fair Housing Violations
AI-powered tenant screening tools have been held directly liable under the Fair Housing Act. Your vendor's algorithm is your legal problem.
Negligence Claims
When AI-generated advice, content, or decisions cause client harm, the liability doesn't stop at the software. It stops at your business.
Regulatory Exposure
Regulators aren't waiting for federal law. They're already coming after businesses like yours.
EEOC Scrutiny
The EEOC has been explicit: "Even when technology automates the discrimination, the employer is still responsible." Automating a bad decision doesn't absolve you of it.
Emerging State AI Laws
Colorado, Illinois, Texas, and a growing list of states have passed or are actively legislating AI-specific compliance requirements. Federal frameworks are close behind.
Federal Civil Rights Enforcement
The DOJ, FTC, and CFPB have all issued formal guidance holding businesses accountable for AI-driven civil rights violations — regardless of whether you built the tool.
Operational Exposure
The risks you don't see coming are the ones that cost you the most.

Workforce DE-Skilling
If you can't show what AI tools are being used, by whom, and for what decisions — you have no defense when something goes wrong.
Undocumented AI Usage
When employees outsource judgment to AI tools without guardrails, institutional knowledge erodes quietly. You won't notice until it's gone.
Vendor Liability Gaps
Most AI vendor contracts explicitly disclaim responsibility for harm caused by their tools. You accepted that risk when you clicked agree. Do you know what you agreed to?
RESPONSIBLE AI PRACTICES BUILT FOR BUSINESS OPERATORS
The V-AGE (Versatile Adaptive Governance Engine) evaluates each AI use case using four critical dimensions. With 100+ control practices and 10+ regulatory modules to draw from, every assessment is tailored to your specific situation.

What data enters the system? We verify that approved datasets are used, personally identifiable information (PII) is redacted, prompts are sanitized, and users have appropriate training before accessing AI tools.
What can the system produce? We ensure format restrictions are enforced, hallucination checks validate accuracy, human review occurs before client delivery, and impact on workers and customers is assessed.
Who maintains oversight? We confirm that every use case has named accountability owners, human-in-the-loop (HITL) requirements for high-risk decisions, and comprehensive logging of all AI interactions.
What are the hard limits? Cost caps to prevent runaway usage, regulatory and policy compliance, system access, prohibited topics, and role-based permissions restrict who can use which features.
HOW CERTIFICATION WORKS
Your certification begins with a consultation with our team. We use the V-AGE™ framework to understand exactly how your business uses AI tools and customize your assessment to match your specific use case and risk profile.
Your completed assessment is reviewed and verified by NIRAI. Upon successful verification you receive your RAI Certificate and Trust Badge, ready to display to clients, carriers, and regulators.
THE STANDARDS BEHIND THE BADGE
100+ AI control practices and 10+ specialized regulatory modules drawn from NIST, ISO, and federal and state compliance frameworks — translated into plain-language business practices so you don't need a compliance department to complete the assessment.Developed by cybersecurity experts, privacy specialists, and business practitioners with real operational experience, then validated against actual regulatory scrutiny. Not theorists. Not academics. People who understand what regulators and courts actually look for.
NIRAI is accepting founding member applications through March 31, 2026. Founding members receive preferred pricing and permanent recognition as early adopters of responsible AI practice.

About Us.

What We Are
NIRAI is an independent 501(c)(6) non-profit organization founded by AI governance professionals, legal experts, and business ethics practitioners who recognized a gap that no one else was filling. Existing AI governance frameworks were built by technologists, for technologists. They assume dedicated compliance departments, deep technical expertise, and the kind of institutional resources that large enterprises take for granted. For the millions of small and mid-sized professional services firms that simply license AI tools to serve their clients, those frameworks offer little practical guidance and no clear path to certification.NIRAI was founded to change that.
Why We Exist
The conventional AI governance conversation has largely been a conversation about AI builders — the companies developing models, training systems, and deploying large-scale AI infrastructure. That conversation matters. But it leaves out the overwhelming majority of businesses affected by AI: the law firms, real estate agencies, HR consultancies, financial advisors, and professional services firms that license AI tools from vendors and use them every day to serve their clients. These businesses carry real AI-related liability. They face real regulatory scrutiny. They have real obligations to their clients, their employees, and their communities. And until now, they have had no practical, affordable, credible way to demonstrate that they are meeting those obligations responsibly. NIRAI exists because that gap is no longer acceptable.
Our Indepenence Matters
As a 501(c)(6) organization, NIRAI operates independently of the AI vendors, technology companies, and commercial interests that shape much of the current governance conversation. Our standards are developed in the public interest. Our certification is issued by a body with no financial stake in the tools being certified. That independence is not incidental — it is the foundation of the Trust Badge's credibility.
For Potential Partners
NIRAI is building a national network of professional associations, consulting firms, legal and compliance advisors, and industry organizations who share our commitment to practical, accessible AI governance. If your organization serves professional services firms and you see an opportunity to bring responsible AI certification to your members or clients, we would like to talk.Inquire About Partnership
For Board and Advisory Council Candidates
NIRAI's advisory council is forming now. We are seeking experienced professionals from AI governance, legal and regulatory practice, cybersecurity, business ethics, and professional services leadership who want to help shape the standards that will define responsible AI practice for an entire sector of the economy. Board and advisory roles are substantive, not ceremonial.Express Interest in an Advisory Role
